As an animal-lover, every trip to the zoo can be an overwhelming experience. At the first roar of a lion, one can be overcome by the energy. But being overwhelmed by the experience does not mean the same thing for everyone. For some it can be downright challenging.

For individuals with special sensory needs – such as ptsd, autism, dimentia, stroke – an enjoyable day at the zoo has just become a bit more accessible. The Staten Island Zoo has just earned their sensory-inclusive certification from KultureCity.com. What does this mean?
